Confirmed and fixed, each with a regression test that failed first:
- Concurrent update() lost patches (merge over one stale snapshot):
per-namespace serialized write queues; a failed write cannot poison
the queue for later writers.
- Fixed-name .tmp write followed planted symlinks and kept stale modes:
random-suffix sibling, exclusive-create (wx), 0600, cleanup on
failure, then rename.
- A throwing settings/updated listener escaped commit and permanently
wedged the provider reload chain (rejected refreshTask): commit now
contains listener failures (INVARIANT-coded errors still propagate),
async watcher rejections are adopted and contained
(watch callbacks are officially void | Promise<void>), and the
provider chains refreshes on a settled tail with an error log.
- No way to remove a user override: scope/service replace(section)
sets the user section wholesale; replace({}) re-inherits base and
schema defaults.
- The three-primitive provider contract did not hold (base never
called load()): the base Service.init loads and publishes once;
settings-local delegates via yield* super[Service.init]().
- Dispose did not quiesce: teardown flags closed, closes the watcher,
then awaits queued/in-flight reloads; closed is re-checked across
await points.
- Invariant now checks the authoritative relation with the seam's own
deepEqualJson: emitted next must equal settings.get(ns), and
next/prev must differ structurally (cosmokit dependency dropped).
- New docs/core-data-structures/settings.{md,zh.md} with type-equiv
blocks + manifest entries; catalog types moved from exemptions to
LINK_MAP; website page registered.
Both packages stay at per-file 100% coverage.
Two-package capability family mirroring session-persistence/:
- dsh-settings: abstract Settings service — namespace registry with
caller-fiber effect registrations, layered resolution (schema defaults
< composition base < user document), schemastery validation,
per-namespace deep-equal commit detection, and the settings/updated
event. Boot/registration validation fails loud; provider publishes
keep last-good per namespace.
- dsh-settings-local: settings.yaml/.json provider — resolveSpec
defaulting to $DSH_HOME/settings.yaml, chokidar hot reload,
content-equality self-write suppression, atomic 0600 tmp+rename
writes, comment-preserving YAML namespace patching.
Consumers register inside ctx.inject(['settings'], …), so every
composition works unchanged without a mounted provider. Real Loader +
Include composition test proves cordis.yml boot and external-edit hot
propagation; HMR disposal test proves registry cleanup. Both packages
hold per-file 100% coverage.
Doc budgets rise 1705→1710 (AGENTS.md) and 835→845 (packages/README.md):
one structural line per file for the new package group.
Agent Note: .agents/notes/implemented/architecture/2026-07-28-user-settings-seam.md
The group's convention is package suffix == provider default
(subagent-acp/'acp', subagent-spawn/'spawn', subagent-fork/'fork'), and the
provider default became dsh-sdk in the last review round — so the package
follows: @deepseek-ai/dsh-subagent-dsh-sdk at
packages/subagent/subagent-dsh-sdk, plugin name subagent-dsh-sdk,
diagnostics prefixed subagent-dsh-sdk:. The dsh echo has precedent
(dsh-llm-deepseek). Directory, fixture path, knip/tsconfig/examples
registrations, catalogs, READMEs (en+zh), and the Agent Note follow; the
sdk-client dispose ladder moves to its own module (src/dispose.ts) with the
deterministic FakeChild tier tests restored alongside it.
Master's #660 replaced dsh-subagent-subprocess with the dsh-subprocess
capability seam (ctx.subprocess + scrubbedParentEnv, tree-scoped teardown)
and moved subagent-acp onto it. Convergence for this branch's packages:
- The shared out-of-process provider vocabulary this branch had grown in
the deleted library (NO_START_CAPABILITIES, assertPositiveFinite, cwd
resolution, settleRunResult, subprocessRunHandle) moves into the subagent
seam package as out-of-process.ts — it enforces subagent-seam contracts,
not process mechanics, and both out-of-process backends now import it
from there (subagent-acp keeps master's shape otherwise).
- subagent-sdk spawns THROUGH the SDK client (the subprocess README's
documented exception for SDK-managed transports) and now applies the
seam's scrubbedParentEnv() + explicit-env merge in place of the deleted
buildChildEnv.
- sdk-client inlines the EOF→SIGTERM→SIGKILL ladder as private helpers (it
runs outside any harness context, so it cannot ride ctx.subprocess).
- The child harness fixture gains the now-required dsh-subprocess-local
entry for bash-local; the fixture cordis.yml keeps exercising the
shipped provider default.
Resolutions: regenerate the conflicted generated docs (cordis services
catalog, event-producer-consumer, module-graph); take master's
packages/README pair and re-insert the telemetry row on both sides;
re-record the README and session-doc translation pairs.
The load-time range check rejects a maxWallMs above Node's maximum
setTimeout delay, but the constraint appeared only in the README design
section. Deployments reading the Config field JSDoc, the generated config
catalog, or the README config summary saw maxWallMs described as a
positive finite wall-clock ceiling, so an out-of-range value looked valid
until plugin load failed.
Consolidates the personal dsh-tui customizations (module split into
components/session/extension, prompt template + running-glyph indicator,
copyable transcript, tool-card headers, timing placement, XML tool output,
status/footer rework) and ports upstream's model reasoning-effort selector
(Shift+Tab effort cycling, effort-aware /model, footer, and /status) onto
the personal module layout.
- subagent-sdk: the default registry name becomes `dsh-sdk` (the bare
`sdk` read ambiguously in configs); READMEs, config catalog, fixture,
and suites follow. The Loader fixture now omits providerName to exercise
the shipped default end to end.
- loader-composition.e2e: two full harness runtimes boot in sequence, so
the default 30s loader-smoke window times out under host load; raise the
subprocess deadline to 120s with matching vitest headroom (the
real-model.e2e precedent).
The local PTY readiness poll held its inferred_idle fallback for exactly
one pollIntervalMs after a prompt marker, so a bash foreground handoff
that lands on the silence boundary only wins the exact stdin_read
attribution when the kernel publishes it inside that single poll. On a
slow or loaded host it does not, and the attribution flips.
handoffGraceMs replaces the hardcoded one-poll window as a validated,
deployment-owned config field defaulting to 500ms, rejected at load when
it cannot contain one readiness poll. Real-shell tests that interrupt a
send now assert the session is usable again rather than which readiness
tier observed the handoff, because no fixed grace removes the race.
`config.maxWallMs` is only checked for positivity, and it is handed to
`setTimeout`, which clamps any delay above 2^31-1 ms to 1 ms. A deployment
configuring a 25-day wall ceiling therefore gets the opposite of what it asked
for: every run times out on the first tick. The runtime now range-checks the
field at load against MAX_TIMER_DELAY_MS from dsh-timeout and throws, so the
misconfiguration fails loud where it is self-contained instead of silently
inverting the budget.
`computeMs` needs no matching bound: it is compared against measured event-loop
utilization rather than fed to a timer.
The test asserts both the rejection and that the boundary value itself loads.
