Review found five real defects in the configuration-source work, all confirmed
against the code rather than argued:
1. The note claimed --config outranks settings.yaml. It does not: the settings
seam registers a plugin's cordis entry config as the `base` layer and the
user section layers over it, and the seam cannot tell a shipped value from a
--config one. The note now states shipped reality and names --config-replace
as the lever for a deployment that must win. Separately, a literal `apiKey`
in settings outranked both the environment and .credentials.yaml — the field
is removed, so configuration carries a reference and nothing else.
2. DEEPSEEK_SEARCH_BASE_URL was functionally deleted: the shipped inline went
away without the provider learning to read it. It now resolves from the
environment snapshot, as the README always claimed.
3. The bootstrap deny list missed the interpreter start-up hooks. BASH_ENV is
the sharpest: `bash -c` sources it on every bash tool call, so a project
.env could run a file of its choosing before every command. The list now
covers BASH_ENV and its per-language siblings, the Git hook commands, and
the remaining preload and CA variables, organised by what a variable does
rather than which runtime owns it.
4. YAML parse errors quoted the offending source line — which in a credentials
document is the secret — into boot stderr and the watcher's logger. Only the
error code and position are reported now, in credentials-local and
settings-local alike, pinned by a test that asserts the secret is absent.
5. 0600 governed only files the harness wrote. A hand-created 0644 document was
read normally. POSIX now checks the mode before reading contents, at boot
and on every reload; Windows has no mode to inspect and is skipped rather
than faked.
The project a session is launched in is trusted by default, with no prompt and
no stored trust record: it may supply its own endpoint, ordinary variables, and
a key ranked below the managed store. Trust stops at the harness itself — a
discovered file still cannot set DSH_PERMISSION_MODE, PATH, BASH_ENV, or the
rest, because those take effect with no user action, before any turn, outside
the permission policy and the sandbox.
ds-review-bot round 1 on the repository-plugin runtime:
- a manifest-declared skill root absent or non-directory in the installed
package now fails the plugin load (skill-local treats a missing root as
legitimately empty, which silently mounted a skill-less plugin)
- includeDefaultRoots: false no longer inherits $DSH_BUNDLED_SKILL_DIR, so
isolated repository providers see only their explicit roots
- prepared wrapper baseUrl schema requires the file: scheme, failing hostile
URLs at the declared validation boundary
- preparedPath reuses format.ts's isOutside; SERVER_NAME_PATTERN is exported
and pinned equal to dsh-mcp-client's, with the restatement justified (the
prepare bin keeps a zod-only module graph); the unexplained `as never`
cast now carries its schemastery rationale
- the import-free wrapper assertion also rejects dynamic import(
- the headless fixture wrapper is regenerated by the real prepareDshPlugin
and a drift test pins fixture == generator output
- prepareDshPlugin JSDoc states the non-atomic publish repair contract
The native adapter's route was named deepseek, colliding with pi-ai's
catalog provider of the same name, so the two DeepSeek paths could never
be mounted side by side. The web settings page needs both configurable at
once. Compositions, fixtures, goldens, scaffolding defaults, and docs all
move together (pre-release, no shim); TUI/session-query-spill/
missing-credential goldens re-recorded through their keyless refresh
modes because provider-name length shifts box padding and spill
truncation points.
Resolutions: regenerate the conflicted generated docs (cordis services
catalog, event-producer-consumer, module-graph); take master's
packages/README pair and re-insert the telemetry row on both sides;
re-record the README and session-doc translation pairs.
Review fix (ds-review-bot on #623): the ACP scenario runs at deployment
strength (the automation protocol has no session-scoped switch), so the
assembled-app path could not detect the delegation bypass itself. The new
keyless subagent-inheritance headless scenario closes that on the
semantic-checkpoint precedent: a seeded parent log carrying a real
sandbox/mode: read-only switch under a workspace-write deployment default
is resumed through the Loader-booted cli-demo app via a resume fixture
plugin and delegates through the real subagent tool; the child's real
write is denied by the real dsh-fs-sandbox fence (physical ENOENT
assertion), its persisted header carries the inherited baseline, and both
logs pin as expected outputs. Verified red: disabling the driver's capture
makes the scenario fail on the disk assertion (the child writes under the
deployment default).
Review feedback (tianyicui): 'process' is a poor service name. The family is
now packages/subprocess/ — @deepseek-ai/dsh-subprocess (ctx.subprocess,
abstract SubprocessService, Subprocess* vocabulary) and
@deepseek-ai/dsh-subprocess-local (LocalSubprocessService) — renamed
throughout code, compositions, docs (en+zh, pairs re-recorded), catalogs,
and gates. 'subprocess' is the precise term for managed OS children (the
Python-stdlib sense), avoids colliding with Node's global process object,
and reads as one system beside dsh-subagent-subprocess.
ds-review-bot findings addressed:
- kill() on a settled handle is now a no-op (no signal to a possibly-reused
pgid, no referenced grace timer delaying exit); pinned by a spy test.
- The moved DshEnvironmentKey/DshEnvironment/CollectedOutput types get
drift-checked type-equiv blocks on the new subprocess.md page, restoring
their manifest registration.
- subprocess.md is registered in the core.md sub-page index (en+zh).
New process/ capability family: @deepseek-ai/dsh-process owns ctx.processes —
abstract ProcessManager.spawn(spec) over a fully-explicit ProcessSpawnSpec —
plus the shared DSH_* managed-environment and CollectedOutput vocabulary;
@deepseek-ai/dsh-process-local carries the former bash-local run.ts plumbing
(detached groups, tail-keep spill-backed output, credential scrub, kill
escalation, kill-and-join disposal) with no config of its own.
dsh-bash-local becomes a consumer: it keeps command defaulting, the fused
deadline timedOut/aborted classification, the model-friendly terminal env
(now merged through the ordinary env channel), and the [stderr]-marked
background read merge, and spawns through ctx.processes. Background-process
lifetime moves to the manager, so an executor reload no longer kills live
background work; a background spawn failure is injected once into the read
path instead of being buffered as fake stderr. dsh-bash re-exports the moved
vocabulary so bash consumers keep one import root; dsh-bash-sandbox only
redeclares the inherited inject.
Every composition loading a bash executor now loads dsh-process-local (CLI,
examples, python bundled runtime, create-sdk bash feature, inline test
configs).
Resolutions: keep both sides where master's new storage/workspace group
registrations sit adjacent to the telemetry ones (gen-doc-graphs
SERVICE_ROLES/GROUP_ORDER, tsconfig.base.json wildcards,
packages/README.md rows); regenerate the graph docs; condense four
packages/README.md rows back under the 790-word ceiling.
The seam keeps the telemetry/redact scrubbing interface but ships no rules
of its own: the innermost next() passes records through unchanged, and
deployments mount their rules as waterfall listeners. As an SDK we cannot
know which patterns are secrets in a given deployment; a shipped list
invites false confidence while catching only known shapes, and false
positives would corrupt exported bodies. Mechanism stays with the seam,
policy moves to the deployment; both READMEs and the Agent Note state the
raw-export default plainly.
The loader-composition e2e now mounts a deployment-style rule fixture and
pins the same wire behavior: secret absent, placeholder present, canonical
log untouched.
Revive the reviewed session-telemetry packages from the closed
session-telemetry-otlp-rfc branch (PR #222/#231) on current master, renamed
to @deepseek-ai/dsh-session-telemetry{,-otel} (the SDK component-telemetry
package holds the dsh-telemetry name).
Delta over the branch version: every record now passes a telemetry/redact
waterfall between projection and emit() — the innermost next() applies a
non-configurable conservative credential-shape rule set, listeners stack
stricter rules, a throwing rule withholds the record fail-closed, and the
canonical log is never rewritten. This answers the export-side concern that
closed PR #222; the boundary axiom (our aspect ends at emit(); delivery is
the reporting SDK's) is unchanged, and the runtime-telemetry RFC's outbox /
readCommitted lane is recorded as deferred in the Agent Note.
Covered by seam/redact/OTel-wire unit tiers (100% per-file) and a keyless
Loader-composition e2e that boots the examples fixture against a mock OTLP
collector and pins redaction on the wire plus the untouched canonical log.
