Rebuild of the fs-overwrite-diff-bound branch on current master. Adds the
diffBasisMaxBytes Config field (10 MiB default, capped by runtime
allocation/decode limits), gates both overwrite sides, and reads the prior
basis from the bounded opened descriptor in cancellation-aware chunks; any
post-stat size change returns a null basis. Also pins the one-extra-byte
growth probe with a regression and drops the now-covered v8 ignore.
bindSettingsScope mirrors the Host-side settings owner seam in the browser:
one scope per namespace publishes a snapshot store (status, section value,
revision, writability, host/memory mode), validates sections against the
namespace's serialized wire schema via dsh-client-schema-form, and keeps the
controller's listener-before-read, revisioned serialized writes, latest-wins
publication, conflict recovery, and disposal quiescence. Theme, locale, and
busy-Enter services now take the scope as a constructor collaborator, which
removes the bindPersistence/syncPreference two-phase callback pair and the
defaulted no-op persist writers; hand-written wire guards fall away in favor
of the registered schema. test-runtime gains a stubSettingsScope double.
Adapter schemas now carry only credential references, but the Models join, onboarding readiness, shipped overlays, SDK scaffolding, fixtures, and active decision prose still treated a redacted literal apiKey as a supported compatibility state. That residue made an unsupported field look contractual and pinned Schemastery silent-dropping as behavior.
Delete those branches and examples, and let compositions and scaffolds use adapter-owned reference and environment resolution. Do not add a tombstone validator or change generic unknown-key behavior: literal adapter credentials have no migration contract to preserve.
Rewrite the three sibling Agent Note pairs that still described create-by-name
as current (workspace-ui-product-flow, session-list-browsing-and-manual-order,
same-basename-workspace-adoption) and the one-route note's own alternative and
section title; delete scripts/hero-composer-dom-continuity.mjs, which drove the
name dialog removed by the one-route change; mark WorkspaceRegistry.create's
now test-only title parameter with a deletion TODO; pin the retired { name }
spelling as a schema rejection; align the workspace spec on stageDir and the
fixture spec title on path creates.
ChatView's bottom-follow recognized only wheel gestures as reader input,
so touch panning, scrollbar dragging, and keyboard paging could not leave
the bottom of a streaming transcript. Replace the wheel listener with
device-agnostic attribution: a scroll position deviating from the
observed-top ledger of the last delivered or written scrollTop is reader
input. Adds keyboard-paging and touch-style fling e2e scenarios (red under
the old implementation) and the bilingual Agent Note triplet.
knip: ui-settings no longer imports react-dom (the portal moved into
OnboardingSurface), so the react-dom peer/dev dependencies and
@types/react-dom go away with the usage.
Review follow-ups: the Agent Note's Testing section now records the
held-join reload regression scenario this PR adds (both languages,
pairing re-recorded); the e2e hold gates EVERY settings.describe issued
before release instead of only the first, so a future boot-time join
consumer cannot silently collapse the widened window; the sampler's
persistence across later navigations is documented and the vacuity
wording softened to what the hold actually buys (timing independence).
The settings shell painted the onboarding overlay (opaque stage, mask,
#root inert) the moment a step was registered and not locally completed,
while every step still had to load its private join before deciding
whether to show — rendering null could not suppress the shell-owned
chrome. Every reload on the hero therefore flashed a full-screen opaque
layer (white in the light palette) for one settings/credential RPC
round-trip after the session list turned ready.
The chrome now belongs to the step: a new zero-cordis OnboardingSurface
primitive (ui-primitives) renders the body-portaled overlay/mask/stage
verbatim from the former SettingsRoot stylesheet and holds #root inert
for exactly its own lifetime. WelcomeNotice and DeepSeekOnboardingDialog
wrap only their visible branch in it, so their existing null branches
paint and block nothing by construction. SettingsRoot keeps the
coordinator unchanged but renders the elected step bare, and the
settings.onboarding contract now names the surface wrap as the
registrant's obligation.
The onboarding e2e gains a held-join reload scenario pinning that a
configured world never mounts the takeover chrome or inerts the app.
