A max-tokens response that included a tool call persisted assembler-transformed
content next to replay metadata projected from the untransformed native message,
so the next request died in history reconstruction with INVALID_REPLAY_STATE and
the session stayed permanently stuck.
Write side: the finish chunk's replayState becomes a typed ReplayEnvelope —
opaque response-level metadata plus optional per-block entries aligned with the
emitted block sequence. BlockAssembler computes one keep/drop decision for
blocks and entries together, so stored metadata always describes stored content
and retained blocks keep their signatures. pi-ai splits its state into a
version-2 response half and per-block signature entries.
Read side: durable content is authoritative. toPiAssistant degrades any
unusable state — foreign kind, other versions (including the flat v1 form
already on disk), malformed metadata, or content/block mismatches — to the
existing provider-neutral conversion with an onReplayDegrade diagnostic instead
of failing the request, which un-bricks sessions poisoned before this change.
Covered by assembler and replay unit tests, an agent-loop continuation
regression, keyless real-composition continuation tests (native pruned-envelope
replay and legacy flat-state degrade), and the authored keyless snapshot
scenario max-tokens-continue through the assembled ACP app.
Machine-produced by `pnpm run rescope-vendor --apply` plus the regeneration it
prints: `pnpm install` for the lockfile, `pnpm run gen-third-party-notices`,
`verify-translation-pairing --write` for the touched bilingual pairs,
`gen-doc-graphs`, and one typert snapshot whose ids embed character offsets.
`pnpm run rescope-vendor --check` verifies the result.
Renames nine vendored packages (cordis, cosmokit, schemastery and the six
@cordisjs plugins) and every reference that resolves them: manifest names and
dependency keys, module specifiers including declare-module merges, cordis.yml
plugin names, tsconfig paths, every Markdown fence, and `docs/` prose.
Directory names, upstream versions, and dependency ranges are unchanged, so
vendor/README.md still reads as an upstream snapshot; its manifest table gains
an upstream-name column so THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES keeps MIT attribution pointed
at each fork's origin.
The tutorial tier follows the rename end to end: its yaml fences named plugins
the Loader can no longer resolve, its `ts ignore-check` fences disagreed with
the compiled fences beside them, and its prose quoted both. The contracts that
told readers to keep upstream names — the root convention and the vendoring
cookbook's tree comment and manifest invariant — now say to rescope instead.
Two rules read `@deepseek-ai/` as "another workspace plugin": the client bundle
purity gate now names the vendored libraries a browser bundle inlines, and the
files where a bare `cordis` is an agent-preset id keep that product data.
All agent/* and agent-loop/config-start-failed events take one payload
object carrying the agent subject; waterfall/serial payloads require a
signal and keep next as the final argument. PreStepContext and
RequestFailureContext are unfolded into payloads and retired.
goal/changed follows the same shape so agentEvents keeps its listener
error containment. ReactLoopAgent builds its scope carrier once in the
constructor. Regenerates scope resolvers, tool-cordis api catalog, and
docs catalogs; updates all affected listeners, tests, and the
core-data-structures docs (en + zh).
- turn boundary now returns false for an empty admitted batch (claimed
input removed before the wake) instead of opening a turn and spending a
model call on nothing; the step boundary already had the symmetric guard.
- a max-token step stays sticky when steering or injected work continues
the turn: a later completed step no longer downgrades the outcome,
matching the TurnEndReasonMap contract.
- session/queue wire schema accepts the context placement (previously the
zod union rejected injected-context snapshots wholesale and the client
silently dropped the whole frame); schema tests cover all placements.
- headless runs settle at whole-agent idle instead of the first turn/end,
honoring the one-shot idle-to-idle contract.
- flush JSDoc names the real callers (checkpoint policy, goal-session,
teardown, self-flushing consumers); apiproxy zh README loses its stale
duplicate history section; ACP note/README record the delivered error
rejection and turnless-cancelled behaviors.
TurnEndReasonMap.error now carries a single `error: LlmFailure` field:
an LlmError keeps its structured facts, any other error flattens to
errorChain text under the UNKNOWN code. Consumers read message/code
directly instead of defending against an unknown union — this also fixes
errorChain() rendering structured failures as '[object Object]' in the
TUI and ACP error paths. Document the turn-stopping contract: a
concludesTurn result never short-circuits already-submitted next-step
work (same-step additionalContexts or racing steering still runs), data
decides.
Steer, inject, and followup now land as durable user/message events on the
session surface; the steering/message event type and its ConversationNode
kind are removed from the client projection. Update tests, docs, generated
catalogs, and agent notes to match, and align the steering e2e fixture and
prompt inventory assertions with the durable user/message landing.
A pre-commit turn/start rejection previously left the machine bricked:
lastTurn had already advanced past a turn the log never recorded, so every
later turn/start violated the session invariant's contiguity rule, and the
admitted prompt lingered in the outbox to leak into the next turn's request.
Keep admitted input on the stack (an argument to run()) until turn/start
commits, then advance lastTurn, set turnOpen, and append the prompt and its
additional contexts as user/message events inside the now-existing turn.
A rejected turn/start therefore unwinds with zero shared state to roll
back, the turn number stays reusable, and the outbox never holds input for
a turn that does not exist. This also restores the documented event order:
the prompt follows turn/start directly instead of waiting in the outbox
behind any steering carried over by cancel({keepInbox}).
Replace send/steer/inject with one Agent.send primitive over the
(target × wakeup) matrix; followup/steer/inject become fixed-preset
alias methods on the now-abstract Agent class. Coalesce context/message
into user/message (injected context is a non-user source). Replace
agent/queued with agent/inbox/enqueue/dequeue/discard, add cancel
keepInbox, and add a FIFO-conservation invariant.
